Mirror Mirror
There’s absolutely no doubt that the most striking feature of this watch is the dial. The flawless mirror polish is a painstaking process, where some dial elements and notches have to be given a protective lacquer coating before a painstaking process of increasingly finer polishes, resulting in a steel dial that is perfectly reflective.
Modern lines
The 40mm case of the SB07 ‘Ghost’ is far from simple. The bezel (mirror-polished, naturally), has two distinctive insets on each side — a detail that is picked up on the flanks, which are recessed and given a highly contrasting satin-brush treatment, one of the few non-reflective elements of the watch.
Off the Rack
Incredibly, this high polish continues onto the bracelet. Instead of the typical satin finish, this H-link bracelet is entirely mirror-polished on the topside, while its underside is satin brushed as usual so that it is smoother and more comfortable against the skin. Due to the nature of this integrated bracelet the lugs of the SB07 ‘Ghost’ flare, but the design will comfortably fit wrists as small as 6 inches.
Peripheral Power
Visible through the open caseback of the SB07 Ghost is the La Joux-Perret G100, and automatic movement with 68 hours of power reserve. It’s a reliable, no-nonsense movement with one quite special detail. The rotor, rather than being your typical central oscillating weight, this watch uses a mystery rotor, where a sapphire support is attached to a fluted titanium ring with a hidden weighted sector made of tungsten. Ingenious!
